Anne Frank House

The genius will explore what you can pay for!

The tragic story of Anne Frank is world famous. The Frank family hid with a few other 25 months in the office of Otto Frank, where Anne wrote her impressive diary. In August 1944 they were betrayed and deported. Anne died at age 15 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Only father Otto survived his stay in Auschwitz and published after the war, the diary found earlier and was kept by Miep Gies, during the war mainstay of the Frank family. The diary has been translated into 65 languages.

A visit to the Anne Frank House shows, amongst other things, the movable bookcase behind which stood the claustrophobic rooms. In the multimedia room, visitors can take a virtual tour of the annex and get lots of information about hiding and World War II. In modern adjoining museum there are exhibitions with themes such as fascism, racism and anti-Semitism. Don't forget to order tickets online, otherwise you stand in the long queue!
